I am still in complete utter shock.

I am never missing ANY opportunity to meet Gillian Anderson from this moment on. She is so ridiculously friendly and adorable and bubbly and yeah…

After the stand-up photo that Jess and I did together, I realized I was so in shock that my arm was wrapped around Gillian Anderson’s waist and that her hand was rubbing my shoulder that I don’t even remember WHERE or WHO the camera person was. Totally fucking blanked.

Know what I said to her? Thank you and after she said “no thank you” to Jess and me, I smiled awkwardly and said “Have a nice day”.

WTF? haha

The photo I got autographed surprised her too. She had never seen it and gave it a good stare down. Convo went a bit like this:

HER: I’ve never seen this photo before. *stares it down*

ME: Is there something wrong?

HER: No, I just wish I had posed differently.

ME: There were other photos in the shoot but you looked so serious on all of them.

HER: Oh, okay!

ME: You do remember where it’s from though, right? (running theme with Gillian is she has shit memory).

HER: I do, I do. I just… It’s okay.

ME: I liked this one best. You seem like you are giving the camera some attitude.

And then I moved on to Chris and she peaks over and looks at his photo and goes, “Oh! That’s a nice photo of you!” He is like “I’ve got a beard!” smart me goes “That you do!” Gillian asks “Where can I find that photo?” and I am like “Frank’s BigLight website”. Not sure if she knew what I was talking about but there you go.

So insane. I’m sure I’m blanking on so much stuff but yeah… Then when we were waiting to get our stand-up photo with her, she pops back in to the room and explains her brilliant idea. She had a printed set of questions for David that she constantly fiddled with. She explained how it was now slightly blue because her pants which she hadn’t washed yet dyed off on it. She said in the hopes to raise even five more dollars for SA-YES, we were going to do a little in house auction. Whoever won got to meet with her a little longer and get a photo with her and she’d write whatever they wanted on it.

Ugh, weekend of Gillian overload. I didn’t think it was possible to love her anymore than I already did but I do. I have so much respect for her.

I MET GILLIAN ANDERSON AND CHRIS CARTER. Still not sure if it was a daydream or not. This is a super long post so I’m going to add this Read More thing.

July 30th, 2011 was quite possibly one of the best days of my life. I completed one of my life goals: to meet the lovely Gillian Anderson.

I spent the day with Lily & Joe before the actual event. They picked me up at LAX & then we explored Los Angeles. I even got to see the Hollywood sign in the distance! Completely unexpectedly, I might add. We went to the restaurant where the bar scene in FTF was filmed!
We also walked through Beverly Hills a bit because the event took place there & also we wanted to look at how the rich live. The houses reminded me of Gene Simmons’ house in the Castle LA episode. In fact, the entire time I was in LA, I thought about Castle and how Stana Katic and Nathan Fillion were probably filming somewhere.

When we finally decided to go in, we walked up to the second floor and got our VIP bracelets for the event, as well as a program. We were in the fourth or fifth row, I believe, so we got a really great view of the stage. Just seeing those two chairs up there on the stage with Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny’s name cards made me freak out.

We sat around for a while until the event finally started. Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny were introduced, and they came down the aisle. My first reaction was, oh my goodness they look so much smaller in person, especially Gilly! That woman is so teeny. She looked about 80 pounds, as Lily and I commented later.

Gillian and David sat down in their chairs and began their conversation. It was mostly Gilly asking David questions.

I’m sure all of you saw the IBG convo tweets, so I won’t comment on those until probably later. But let’s just say that the entire thing was so perfect. Gilly was bubbly, David was gorgeous and laughing, Gillovny flirting all over, & Chris being the intelligent god of The X-Files that he is.
David had to leave early, which was a bummer because I was enjoying looking at him and he seemed to be having a really great time talking to Gillian and Chris. And I randomly saw Gillian’s partner Mark racing out of the room for some reason haha.

When the Q&A was over, we waited around quite a long time before they let our row in to meet Gillian Anderson and Chris Carter. Meanwhile, the whole time I waited in line, my legs and hands wouldn’t stop shaking. I was SO NERVOUS. About to meet someone I have adored for 3 years. AND TALK TO HER. I completely was not ready.

I brought in my “I Want to Believe” poster (the one Mulder has in his office) to be signed. While we were waiting, we peeked in the door and could see Gilly and Chris before we even went in. My heart was going NUTS. Lily and Joe went to Chris Carter first to have him sign her arm (hehe which she got tattooed btw!) so I got to talk to Gillian first.

Hands shaking, I handed her my poster and said, “Hello Gillian!” She said, “Hi! How are you doing?” I said, “Good, how are you?” and then laughed because it seemed so silly to ask her that. Then I think Chris Carter said something that made her giggle so I said, “I love your laugh, Gillian! It’s so contagious!” And she replied, “If you think my laugh is bad, you should hear my sister’s!”

I HAD A CONVERSATION WITH GILLIAN ANDERSON ABOUT HER LAUGH. Still seems like a dream. So she smiled at me and said my name as she signed the poster. She wrote “Laura, nice to meet you. Gillian Anderson.” HAUSJKFGHEUOAIKLSDJIAFSKL

Then I walked over to Chris. He was in a hurry to leave because he was staying extra just to sign everybody’s posters. SO NICE OF HIM. I said hello and I said thank you for everything and he smiled and didn’t really talk much. BUT IT WAS EPIC ANYWAY. AND HE WROTE “DON’T GIVE UP” ON MY POSTER. XF3 was the only thing I thought of when I saw that. IT HAS TO BE HAPPENING GUYS.

So after that, I could hardly speak or walk for that matter because of the adrenaline of what had just happened. GILLIAN FREAKING ANDERSON. IN PERSON. RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. So beautiful and perfect and bubbly and teeny. I adore her a billion times more now, if that was even possible.

THAT’S NOT EVEN THE END OF MY GILLIAN EXPERIENCE.

While Lily went to wait in line for a special photo session with Gilly, I decided to use the bathroom. There were two IBG women waiting in there, so I assumed they were in line. I stood there waiting, not even expecting what happened next. GILLIAN ANDERSON WALKED OUT OF THE BATHROOM STALL IN FRONT OF ME. I almost choked I was so surprised. My heart was going a mile a minute. She gave me a little smile and washed and dried her hands. Then on the way out, I managed a “Bye, Gillian!” And in her adorable bubbly way, she said, “Bye!” I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT. And I may have “accidentally” used the same bathroom stall as her. WAHAHA. I actually don’t know.

My goodness, that woman is most definitely a perfect human being in person. She didn’t even look real. She is flawless. What an epic epic night. I will never forget it.

I also got to meet some Philes that I’ve known through the Internet! Karen, Roi, Tiffany, and Mel were the only ones I said a few words and a hello to. J I kinda just watched the other ones haha I wasn’t brave enough to come up and talk. I am shy I guess. I’M SURPRISED I MANAGED MORE THAN A GASP IN FRONT OF QUEEN GILLY.
